How to advertise a flatshare

For landlords seeking tenants to rent a room in their property the most effective place to advertise is on the internet.  This is because you are not limited to just a few words or a photograph, like you would be with an ad in a local paper.

When writing an advertisement, it is best to include photographs as it gives the person searching for a room to rent the chance to see what the property is like.  A photograph will also make your advert more appealing in search results, as profiles with no images look half finished and make people question why there isn't a photo included. 

It is best to be honest and as accurate as possible as it will save everyone’s time in the long run, describing a single room as a small double is asking for trouble. 

It helps if you mention local facilities such as shops, transport links, doctors, parks and pubs - this gives people who don’t know the area a good overview. 

Remember, people see it as a positive thing when landlords supply good detailed information.

Despite this, you need to try and keep your text concise and to the point as all people want are the facts, but they don’t want to read a novel!

Finally, include what your expectations of the tenants are, although remember that you cannot discriminate.  This may sound like a lot of work, but in reality it should only take a short amount of time and effort and it will be well worth it.
